Based at The Old Tile Yard for William Blyth, Gabriel Nichols is a master potter with over 40 years of industry expertise. He currently crafts an extensive range of gardenware at Pottery Shed, spanning from 4" longtoms to monumental pots designed for trees. In addition to his garden range, Gabriel specializes in bespoke commissions for architectural ceramics, including handmade bricks, chimney pots, and roof tiles.

In the latest series of The Great Pottery Throw Down, Gabriel Nichols steps into the spotlight as a guest judge. In his guest appearance, he challenges the contestants to step away from the delicate tea sets and move into the world of heavy-duty terracotta.
The Great Pottery Throw Down airs Sunday, 8 February at 7:30 PM on Channel 4.

The new range is defined by a departure from the raw, earthy tones of the Humber Estuary clay, incorporating bright spring colors that contrast beautifully with his traditional craftsmanship.
The collection features vibrant, spring-inspired glazes—think primrose yellows, soft sage greens, and sky blues. These are often applied as "dipped" glazes, leaving the bottom of the piece in its natural, unrefined state to honor the material's origin.
The range includes his popular "Wide Tom" mugs, dipping bowls, and breakfast sets.

The Gabriel Nichols Pottery consists of a two-person team, Gabriel and Tessa. Between them, they have over 55 years of experience in the pottery industry.

Based on The Old Tile Works site, in the shadow of the Humber Bridge, we have a fully equipped studio, with ample parking and onsite attractions.

Gabriel's knowledge & skills, Tessa’s teaching experience and formal qualifications work well together to design & teach classes, courses, & workshops for all levels of experience in ceramics.
